After another trip through a desert of boring books that I couldn't get through, I finally found an oasis! Curse of Stone by Veronica Shade was just what I needed to quench my paranormal thirst.
Madison is a witch, but despite the perks of being able to rake leaves with conjured wind, she simply wants a normal life with the boy she's head-over-heels in love with. All of her plans and even her entire world crashes down on her when a tornado strikes, and in an attempt to protect her best friend from death, she uses her powers and accidentally kills her boyfriend in the process. Wracked with guilt, she is desperate to finally learn to really use her powers to protect those she loves, and she enrolls herself in a witch academy.
I do have to say, as I'm writing this review for book 1, I've actually halfway through book 5. I just cannot stop reading the series! And it's a bonus that it's on Kindle Unlimited.
This story is filled with heartache, adventure, mystery, betrayal, history, and a heck of a lot of witchy fun! If you are looking for the ultimate page-turner, look no further. Academy of the Damned: Curse of Stone is one-stop shopping for adventure!
I give this book five out of five stars for just being that awesome!
Content Rating: Medium (there are some swears--including the occasional f-word, there's very little kissing but a definite slow burn romance, there's not too much violence, but there is danger and tension).
